“When I first started with one of my kids, he was shy and didn’t want to speak to me, so I just took the day getting to know him. We were talking to each other about our love for planes. Next thing you know, he can’t stop talking about becoming a pilot and helping people. From then onward, I started to see him as one of my younger siblings.”

“I absolutely love this program! My mentor was very patient and helpful; my daughter got along with her very well. Her teaching style really helped my daughter, and now she looks forward to their weekly sessions.”

Question: Did you achieve your goal as a mentor?

“I actually did! I became friends with one of my students that is a third grader. She is so adorable and always excited for my lessons. I wanted to make even a teeny tiny difference in someone’s life, and I had that opportunity.”

“My child loved his mentor; he wants to have breakfast with her one day. I was happy to hear my son say, ‘Mom, I know how to do fractions, my mentor taught me! Come, test me.’ He really enjoyed the sessions.”

“I’m very happy with the program and especially the mentors. Not being able to be in the classroom, I appreciate their detailed feedback on my daughter’s progress. She loves it too! She has built a beautiful relationship with her mentor, who answers her questions well and gently explains her mistakes until she understands.”
